Writer's picture: SABASABA

Scott Bredin was born and raised in KwaZulu Natal. He is a professional artist whose work showcases the lush tropical trees and vegetation of the region. In 1999, he took up bonsai and has since become widely recognized in South Africa for his Olives, Indigenous Figs, Cammiphora, Scotia, and especially his Baobabs. Scott has grown several prized baobabs from seed that are admired by many bonsai enthusiasts.

As a professional artist, he applies the lessons of close observation of nature required for drawing and painting to his trees. He has expressed his gratitude for the help and mentorship he has received from other bonsai artists over many years and is always willing to pass on his knowledge. Currently, Scott serves as the Chairperson of the Durban Bonsai Society.
